YAKKGY YAK su ounan ssrnsn

Everyone seeks attention. Some kids strive for the honour roll.
Some kids score touchdowns. Other kids wear black and get
tattoos. And then there’s always one kid who is the class
clown...

Imagine what Jim Carrey was like as a teenager. Now imagine
that kind of manic energy sitting next to you in class in the form
of... a Yak.

Meet Yakkity Yak.

Yakkity is more than just the class clown. He’s a comedian.
Just ask him, he'll tell you. Actually, just go near him, he'll tell
you.

That's because Yakkity is determined to see his name in lights
and he uses any and all of life’s situations as a vehicle for
comic buffoonery in hopes of getting the attention and popu-
larity he feels he deserves.

Unfortunately, there's something standing in the way of
Yakkity’s dream. It’s called reality. And the reality is that he’s
an ordinary teenager living in the small town of Lambton...
smack dab in the middle of nowhere.

And in the middle of nowhere, nobody can hear you dream.
It's a long, hard, joy-buzzer strewn road out of Lambton County

to comedic fame and fortune, but Yakkity Yak is determined to
get there, one hoof at a time.

FERIE® ALUTLINE

Growing up in Lambton is no piece of cake. It may be strange, but it’s still a
boring small town. The pace is slow and for a teenager with lots of energy,
you can go nuts just trying to find something to do. One such unfortunate is
Yakkity Yak.

A young misfit Yak, Yakkity finds himself stuck in Lambton, living with his
Grandmother. But Yakkity is that rare animal: a Yak with dreams. He has a
plan to escape the teenage angst and ennui that so plagues his friends and
acquaintances: he wants to be a superstar comedian. However, his
achievements so far are limited to being the unpopular class clown, mostly
ignored football team mascot, and resident punching bag for the team’s
captain, Rondo.

Several months ago, Yakkity’s dream came a step closer when his best
friend Keo told him about the Trilo Entertainment Agency, a new company
dedicated to promoting top notch Lambtonian talent like ex-wrestler Chuck
Damage and elfin impersonator Fairy Wanda. When Yakkity heard the news
he couldn’t sleep for a week.

Yakkity took every opportunity to develop his limited comedic talent.
Bathroom mirrors, classmates, family, friends, teachers, and even crowded
bus stops full of complete strangers were all unwilling audiences for his
pathetic punch lines. No one was safe. At last, our bovine bozo succeeded
in getting the reluctant attention of Mr. Trilo himself.

Now, this small time agent gets Yakkity one off gigs at children’s birthday
parties, retirement homes, and funerals - "one off" because Yakkity never
gets asked back. Let's face it, Yakkity is a work in progress.

Still, for a dull town, there never seems to be a dull moment in the life of our
wanna-be star. Yakkity turns every moment into an opportunity to get
noticed. He never misses a chance to hone his comedic ‘craft’ and bask in
the adulation of his fans. Yeah, right.

In the beginning of the series, the scene is set in Lambton and introduces
our viewers to the eccentric characters who live there. We'll see Yakkity and
his buddy, Keo, face everyday life in their small town.

Once the scene has been set, we'll delve deeper into the dynamics of our
townsfolk. Yakkity becomes increasingly disgruntled as the football team’s
undervalued mascot and begins to see it as an impediment to his inevitable
comedic fame and fortune. Finally, in a fit of megalomania, Yakkity con-
vinces himself to quit his job as team mascot.

This decision will not go down well with the more superstitious citizens of
Lambton. For many, Yakkity is the team’s ‘lucky charm’. After all, Yakkity’s
Grandfather was mascot during the winning provincial championship sea-
son. In spite of the naysayers, Yakkity attempts to go for his dream. He
leaves Lambton behind aboard the Trilo Entertainment tour bus and heads
for the bright lights of the big city.

It's often said that you never appreciate your Yak, until he’s gone. And so
the citizens of Lambton discover that it is Yakkity, their forgotten mascot,
who drives their football team to its heights of athletic endeavor. Only the
irritation of a fool on the sidelines can create that kind of winning fury.
Without Yakkity’s antics, the team spirit is gone. The crowds at the football
games dwindle away to nothing as the team loses game after game. Keo is
forced to beg Yakkity to return and face his true destiny. Yakkity will have to
make the choice of a lifetime: mascot or comedian.

Given the fact that he’s a failure as a big city comedian, Yakkity’s choice is
easy. He'll return to Lambton just in time for the provincial championships,
cheer the team to victory, and at long last achieve the 15 minutes of fame
and attention that he so desperately sought.

For most people this would be enough. But not Yakkity, no way. Deep in his
heart, deep in his small, furry soul, Yakkity still thinks he has what it takes to
be a superstar comedian. And no matter what adversity he faces, no matter
how people try to ignore him, no matter how far away his dreams seem to
be, Yakkity still believes that one day he'll have the whole world rolling in the
aisles with gut-busting laughter.

LIFE IN LAMBTON BAUNTY

Lambton is a small, unassuming town on the Canada/US border. It’s a place where quiet farmlands meet huge lakeshore chemical industry. And it’s the kind of
place you quickly pass through on your way to somewhere more interesting. Lambton hasn’t changed in decades and has become isolated and cut-off from the rest
of the world. As a result, things have gotten a little strange around town. Not that any of the inhabitants would ever notice. Caught in their own unique time and
place, Lambton County residents have fallen prey to eccentricity and small border town craziness.

The county museum, a forest of cobwebs, dust, and clunky dioramas of men drilling for oil, is the only place that attracts any visitors. Lambton is where oil was first
discovered in North America. Occasionally the odd Texan or Albertan will make the pilgrimage to Lambton to buy an ounce of oil from North America’s first oil well...
then quickly jump back in their Cadillac and get on the highway.

Near the museum is the local school. Inside its uninspired architecture are the same ramshackle classrooms and extra squeaky chalkboards that have been used
to teach the children of Lambton for decades. Outside the school, and under the shadow of the Kapow Chemical plant, is the pride and joy of the county: the foot-
ball field, scene of Lambton’s greatest moment... the day the Lambton High School football team won the provincial championship. It’s fifty years later and people
are still talking about it.

Like the candy store owned and operated by the Highpants family since 1822, most businesses on Main Street haven’t changed much since the town was founded.
And while the smell and taste of oil is gone from the air, the dust and pollution belched from the nearby factories lingers in much the same manner.

However, among the main street's retro billboards and tacky neon signs, you will find that one new business has recently opened: the Trilo Entertainment Agency.
Opened by a mysterious newcomer, the Trilo Agency promises what everything else in Lambton fails to deliver: big city excitement. Only time will tell if the shiny,
new sign will end up in the town dump.

It’s safe to say, that Club Med it ain’t. But Lambton is just the sort of oddball place that generates great comedy...

Yakkity was a cute, furry child and received lots of atten on f
his parents. Unfortunately, his mother and father wandered ¢
into the mountains of Tibet to find some relatives and were never
heard from again. Ever since then, Yakkity has pined for attention,
f for the spotlight. He longs to be a superstar comedian, cracking
p his audience with clever quips and soaking up the adulation of __
he masses. In reality, Yakkity is a student at Lambton High - the
class clown and undervalued football team mascot. Yakkity got —
the job because his Grandfather was mascot when the football -
team won the provincial championship in 1925. But Yakkity wants
no part of this legacy. After all, the football team gets all the glory.
Luckily, Yakkity has his dream of comedic fame. Unfortunately,
Yakkity’s jokes are horrible and his timing is so far off it’s painful.
Yakkity’s ‘routines’ have been known to induce nausea and cramp-
ing of the brain. But Yakkity never realizes that his audience i
cringing. :

Every weekend, Yakkity goes to the Trilo Entertainment Agency
beg for a booking where he can perform his repertoire of pathetic
punch lines. While Yakkity’s sense of humour may be painful, you
have to admire his dogged determinedness. At least Yakkity has
good friend in his right-hand-man, Keo. They’re inseparable. With
Keo's help, Yakkity is sure to escape the burden of ‘mascot-hood’

and live out his dream on the stages of the world... 1

his gruffness, Chuck really comes alive when he’s

it's a real fight. He takes himself very seriously.

Wanda Lewinsky is the school’s new librarian. Behind the
shy smile and stylish glasses she has a few secrets. This
young woman arrived suddenly from the big city "for the air".
Wanda finds Lambton charming and is fascinated by the
local history. On the weekend she turns into a stunning fairy,
the children, particularly the girls, love her. At school, she
certainly makes the trip to the library that much more inter-
esting. She’s seen as slightly eccentric, but is very popular.
Wanda has also amassed a large fantasy section at the
school library, which Lemony frequents. Wanda is second on
the ‘talent ladder’ at the Trilo Agency and Yakkity looks up to
her as a veteran of the entertainment scene. Wanda has two
personas: her young, hip librarian personality, and her mag-
ical fairy personality. Just flick the switch and, presto, she
lights up like a Christmas tree. She’s so good it’s rumoured
Wanda is a real fairy. Mr. Highpants claims to have seen her

WAKKITO 6&8 HALE.

LABATION..LABATION. LABATION

Yakkity lives in a simple two-story dwelling that borders on farmland. It’s
not unusual to find a cow loitering in the backyard. Granny also keeps
chickens in the backyard. Professor Crazy Hair rents out the basement
of the house. Thanks to him, it resembles an odd synthesis of living
quarters/laboratory. New inventions and abandoned inventions are
strewn everywhere. House decor is typical of an old person’s house:
knick-knacks, doilies, quilts, and all manner of knitted items. Yakkity’s
room is a mess. In one corner there is a makeshift stage. There is also

a full-length mirror for rehearsing.

HIRFHBANTE® BANAYU STORE.

The Candy Store is Yakkity and Keo’s hangout. It is also popular
with all of the town’s residents. It is a treasure trove of every
candy known to man and Yak. Think Willy Wonka. There are also
booths and a bar to sit at where you can get a soda. On the wall
is acommunity notice board filled with strange messages. Thanks
to Mr. Highpants’ excessive attention to detail, order and neatness
are the name of the game in this multi-coloured paradise. Mr.
Highpants lives upstairs in a small apartment. From the upstairs
window you can see the Lambton High School and its football field
with binoculars.

TARILGA ENTEATAINMENT ARBENAY.

The Trilo Agency is a shabby, musty room (not unlike a stereotypical
Private Eye’s) with a crooked staircase. Lots of props and posters
from old shows and circus acts adorn the walls. Trilo doesn’t have
much money and the place reflects it. Plus, bubblegum wads are
stuck everywhere, courtesy of Trilo. There is a small waiting room and
an adjacent rehearsal room too.

LAMBTAN HIEH GAHAAL

Lambton High is a typical government institution. The building
itself is ancient and creaky. Most of the school funds go into main-
taining the football field - a veritable oasis among Lambton’s
dilapidated architecture.

there’s a catch: Lemony wanted Fairy Wanda, but she’s out a town.

Trilo convinces Yakkity to take her place. So Yakkity goes to the sone dressed
up as a Fairy. Lemony quickly begins to suspect that something strange is

to an ‘Around Lambton Race’.

Granny, Lemony, Keo, and Yakkity hire Professor Crazy Hair to soup up

The Trilo Agency is in desperate straights. If Trilo doesn’t pay his rent in 24
hours, Lambton city hall will evict him. Mr. Highpants is ecstatic at the news.
Yakkity gets the bright idea to hold a Celebrity Car Wash. Townsfolk can drive
up in their cars, get them washed, and be entertained by top local acts.

Yakkity is excited to have a captive audience. Chuck Damage will wrestle on
the hoods of cars. Professor Crazy Hair contributes a drive-through machine
for the cause: a combination amusement ride and car wash. Unfortunately,
Yakkity’s audience is stolen when Rondo decides to hold a Football team car
wash one block over.

and Keo need to create an impressive project to save their failing science
grades. Yakkity decides to enlist the help of Professor Crazy Hair.

Won over by Yakkity’s enthusiasm, the Professor stays up all night with them
creating the ultimate invention: a homemade, joke-telling, seltzer-firing, pie
throwing, ‘comedy robot’. The hilarious Robot has everyone at the Fair in
stitches. Insane with jealousy, Yakkity sneaks behind Keo and the Professor’s
backs to destroy the thing.

quit once and for all. He convinces Keo to take his place so he can be free to
pursue his comedic dreams.

Yakkity, acting as coach, puts Keo on a grueling schedule of calisthenics and
gymnastics. He teaches Keo how to spell every letter of the alphabet with his
body. Led by Yakkity’s guidance, Keo is ready for his big debut at the next
football match. On the day of the game, Keo gets stage fright. Yakkity pulls
out all the stops to help his pal ‘wow’ the crowd. The Football team wins and
Keo becomes the hero.

It's time again to announce the winner of the Lambton ‘Store Of The Year’
award. Mr. Highpants has won the trophy every year since he’s been open
and he’s sure he'll win this year. When Mr. Trilo brags that he’s going to take
the award instead, Mr. Highpants plots to put Trilo out of business.

An all-out war of egos develops as each storeowner tries to discredit and
defame the other. Both Trilo and Mr. Highpants enlist Yakkity and Keo to do
their dirty work. The whole town gets dragged into it. Yakkity and Keo realize
that it's up to them to end the escalating nonsense.

Finally they succeed in getting a pair of front row seats. For the first time,
Yakkity gets a taste of a really big crowd...and he’s hooked.

The wrestling match is epic in proportion. It’s teenage heaven. Then, the
Referee gets knocked out cold. Yakkity disguises himself as the new Ref and
infiltrates the ring. In the midst of the fight, Yakkity uses the ring as a platform
for his latest routine. Chuck and Dr. Fang are not amused.becomes desper-
